Free Family Event at The von Liebig
February 5
Noon to 4 PM
The von Liebig Art Center
If your kids are driving you NUTS looking for something fun to do, then bring them out to the 8th Annual “Nuts About The von Liebig” on Saturday, February 5 from noon to 4 PM at The von Liebig Art Center at 585 Park Street in Naples. The name for this free and fun family event originated with the event’s signature activity – painting coconuts. Young budding artists, and their parents too, will enjoy decorating coconuts with everything from funny faces to beach scenes.
In addition to coconut painting, kids will have the opportunity to try out several hands-on craft projects, have their faces painted, listen to live music, interact with a clown, and take part in the Child ID program offered through The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Be sure to get there early though; Last year’s crowd topped over 700 kids and parents.
Another reason to come out to The von Liebig this Saturday is to take advantage of the Scholastic Book Fair on the front walk. Now’s the time to stock up on hundreds of books for kids and grandkids, with many prices $6 or less — from bestsellers and new releases to kids’ favorites for great reads, thrills and chills, super-hot series and popular picks. Kerri Meehan from Expression of Art will be working with NAA’s Education Director Callie Spilane to help manage the Scholastic Book Fair.
Allow your kids to express themselves and make supporting the arts and our community an annual affair, beginning this Saturday at noon.
Nuts About The von Liebig is hosted by the Naples Art Association in partnership with the Naples Zoo, Conservancy of Southwest Florida, Rookery Bay, National Estuarine Research Reserve, The Golisano Children’s Museum, and other community partners.
