On a recent nature outing to Sanibel Island, we came across this Great Egret perched upon a branch at about eye level. I couldn’t resist snapping several photos from the comfort of the air conditioned car. Amazingly, this egret didn’t seem to be as skittish as most and seemed to rather enjoy getting his photograph taken. While I have many more glamorous shots of him preening his beautiful feathers, this shot is my favorite! It cracks me up every time I look at it.
So, now I’ve bumped out my red poppy photo and saved this shot as my new screensaver on my iPad. A nice reminder to always look at things from a different perspective.
